Torah took to them right away. She spent nearly an hour sitting in Gpa's lap and looking at pictures of dogs on his ipad.
Gma and Emma provided the background music.
I failed to get any pictures of the bulk of the day: lunch at Casa Rojas Express (she devoured a bowl of beans & cheese), ice cream at Mora's (sadly, the birthday girl slept through it & didn't get any), then running errands in Poulsbo.
Fast forward to dinner . . .
I think I've mentioned that she's a pretty picky eater. So her birthday dinner consisted of her favorites - FRUIT. I tried to include a piece of bread, but that was promptly dropped on the floor.
Then it was present time! She was pretty hesitant to rip into the paper, maybe because she just got in trouble the night before for tearing a page out of a book. But her big sister, Adana, was happy to show her how to do it.
She LOVED her present - a ball popper. Her friend, Ozzie, came over to celebrate the big day with her. Torah loves Oz, but she wasn't so sure about the whole "sharing of new toys" thing. (Notice the scowl.)
"Here Oz. Let me show you how to do it."
Finally, it was cake time! This is my favorite part of a 1st birthday party. She thought we all looked ridiculous standing around her and singing.
And she was totally clueless about the whole blow out the candle thing. (I wish this picture was in focus.)

Love all of the pictures, but most especially the loveys for Baba! :)
rizAww! Looks like a great birthday. She is adorable. She will be two before you know it!
Happy Birthday Tora! Look at those curls!
I can't believe she is one already! She is such a doll! Oh those teeth will be coming in any time now, Mariko turned one and then got her first teeth a couple weeks later. So there is hope yet!
