Alright, all you Doubting Mustafas! So you wondered what I was going to do with all those pints of lard?? Well, what do you have to say about THIS:

Oh yeah, baby! PIE! And all sorts of other yummy pastries and goodies.

I love to make pie. But everyone knows that getting a crust that is just right - flakey and tender and flavorful - is about as easy as getting Adana to sit still for three hours of church.

BUT, have you ever made pie crust with LARD??
No? Well then, you are missing out on one of life's purest joys. I promise you, it was the flakiest, the tenderest, and flavorful-est pie crust I have ever made. Ever.
All I have to say is this - I gotta render me some more pig fat! 'Cuz this is gonna be the Winter of Pie at the Russell house!
And fried chicken.
And danishes.
And chicken pot pies.
And tarts.
And turnovers.
Oh my.

The pies look delicious. They make my mouth water. I know what a great cook you are and you have great plans. I just wondered if you remember your sweet Father's "rude" and completely non PC term for someone with a large posterior.
L rd-b tt?? Be careful with all your wonderful baking. Wish I was there to taste your delicate crusts.
YUm! Lard is good for refried beans too. :)
Okay....it looks good that way.....
Oh wow it does look good, but does it taste like bacon? I guess I'm just assuming all pig lard is bacon flavored...could make for a delicious pie either way! Come for Thanksgiving...bring the bacon pie! I'm missing you.
Yum! I'll be right over!
