Instagram Update: Mexico!

The girls and I were able to join Gma and Gpa Guisinger for 2 weeks at the El Cid resort near Cancun.  We had a wonderful time relaxing in the warm sun, swimming in the beautiful pools and beaches, and taking little excursions along the Mexican Riviera.  I can't wait to go back with Nathan and the boys!

Cute little church in Puerto Morelos.  I love the stark whites & vivid colors of Mexico!

Beach braids.

Savoring the local cuisine.  Missing @russelldds!

The girls ordered Mirinda (orange soda) to drink.  Clearly those weren't newly opened soda bottles.

Good Sunday.

Cliff jumping.

Best MLK Jr. day ever!

Snorkeling along the 2nd largest reef in the world.  We saw tons of fish, barracuda, a big turtle, sting ray & a nurse shark!  (That's Brooke & Torah in the picture.)

Off on our snorkeling adventure.

Fully wiped out.

Productive day, pondering the mysteries of the universe.

We pretty much did a whole lotta nothin' today.

Today's adventure:  Mexican supermarket.  We had a lot more planned for the day, but the power went out while we were buying our stuff, so we spent an hour standing in the checkout line, chatting with the locals.  No one seemed the slightest but surprised or upset by the delay.  One guy just said, "Welcome to Mexico."

Tulum - ancient city (including amazing pyramid temple) on the shores of the Caribbean.  If you're LDS, this was (supposedly) the location for 3 Nephi 11.  Wow.

Temple at Tulum.

Drinking/Eating fresh coconut after a hot day in Tulum.

Lunch at a roadside seafood stand - a huge platter of fresh shrimp, octopus, crab & lobster.  Delicious!

Adorable girls who came by to sell us some homemade candy (yummy - sort of like peanut brittle, but with pumpkin seeds).  We asked them to join us & eat the rest of our seafood, which they happily did.

Beach day!

Kayaking in the Caribbean.

Russell girls LOVE kayaking!!
