Happy Birthday Adana!

Last Thursday, December 16, was Adana's birthday. She is now 5 years old!

She woke up Thursday morning to a nice stack of presents on the table,

and decorations all over the house courtesy of the "Birthday Fairy."

Adana had some very exact requests for her birthday cake. She insisted that it have a rainbow, a sun and flowers. Please don't click on the image to see it up close. Most of it was done one-handed while trying to sooth a fussy baby with the other hand.

Her friend, Izaac, spent the day with us. After opening & playing with Adana's gifts, we went to McD's for lunch. (She got the birthday crown at school the day before & hardly took it off all day.)

Then we went to the Kidimu to play for a while.

Later that afternoon, Adana invited a few friends over for a little party. The other big request that she had for her birthday was to go trick-or-treating (since Halloween was on Sunday this year she didn't go in October). So the kids decorated their bags,

then went trick-or-treating to all of our upstairs bedrooms. I enlisted Jared, Micah, Emma and 2 of their friends to help man the doors.

Then we set up the numbered carpet squares (Thanks Jessica!) and they got their wiggles out hopscotching.

Here's the birthday girl (and her friend, Sophia) eating cake.

The day ended with a long-awaited trip to see Santa, then dinner at a favorite Mexican restaurant. I think she had a very full, very fun birthday!

Adana is such a great girl! I asked her brothers to help me make a list of the best things about her:
  • She is stinkin' cute!
  • She has a great sense of humor.
  • She is exuberant!
  • She LOVES people and is always looking for ways to make others happy.
  • She is outgoing - makes new friends easily.
  • She is tough. It takes a lot to make her cry.

We know (of) Sophia! She is a giant among the local five year-old soccer players. Seriously, the best on the island.

Happy Birthday, Adana!
