BHS Varsity Boys Soccer Senior Night

The end of an era ...

I have spent the past 13 years of my life watching Jared play soccer.  He started on his first team when he was 4 years old.  For the next 13 years, I spent a majority of my Saturdays standing on the sidelines, cheering him on through sun, rain, wind, even snow.  I have spent thousands of dollars on cleats, shin guards, uniforms, team fees ...  And I have loved every single minute of it.  I LOVE watching Jared play soccer.  He is such a natural on that field.

Wednesday night was Senior Night, the last league game of the season.

Before the match, all of the parents of Seniors lined up on the field.

The players were introduced one by one.  They came out & gave flowers to their moms.  It was pretty darn sweet.

Incidentally, we won the match!  2-1 against Lakeside, our #1 rival in the Metro league.  Go Spartans!!

Don't you just wish you would have held him back a year? Why do they have to grow up so fast?
