Well, I finally have something to blog about (and I'm finally feeling up to sitting on my hard wooden kitchen chair long enough to post this).

Meet Torah - our beautiful 5th baby. She was born on Tuesday morning at 6:34am after just under 2 hours of labor and a whirlwind delivery by a sweet & somewhat surprised nurse. We barely made it to the hospital in time and Nathan was in the middle of signing a ridiculous stack of papers when Torah decided to torpedo herself into this world.

Torah is such a sweet baby! She sleeps great (as long as she's being held), rarely cries (unless she's not being held), and is absolutely ADORED by her siblings (who are perfectly happy to hold her non-stop).

Adana is definitely her biggest fan. She LOVES Baby Torah and is very gentle with her. If Torah had a nickel for every kiss she's received from Adana, she'd have college paid for. Here is my friend, Katie's, post about Torah with some more cute pics of Adana & her sister.

She doesn't always sleep, though. These are the beautiful eyes that gaze up at me all night.

Classic picture of Torah sleeping on her Baba's chest (while he, of course, is talking on the phone.) I think I have a picture of each of my babies sleeping like this on Daddy's chest. It's a safe, comfy place for a baby to be.

While Torah & I were stuck in prison the hospital (I hate hospitals!), we had some fun visitors. The Fantastic Four came to Ooh and Aah and cuddle our newest member. I can't wait to get Torah out in a kayak! (Just kidding mom). :-)

Jenny (on the left in the green shirt) has a particularly unique bond with little Torah. She agreed to be my doula for the delivery and I can't imagine how I would have made it through without her. She arrived at the hospital minutes before us, and was by my side helping me stay calm & focused so that Nathan could deal with the uptight bureaucracy of the $%&! hospital. Here's her post about it, with a couple more pictures.

Nathan had this cute sign in the front yard when we got home, with balloons & streamers. Torah makes kid #48 for our little neighborhood. We love kids around here, and I'm so glad that my kids get to grow up in such a loving environment.

THANK YOU to everyone - neighbors, friends, church members, my kids' friends - who has been so helpful to me & my family! I haven't had to think about meals or rides for my kids all week. I am constantly thanking God for the unexpected blessing it has been for us to live in this community.

Brooke, Brooke, Brooke! You have been on my list to email because I haven't heard from you! But WELCOME this joyful little bundle! :) Glad mommy and baby are doing well. I'm also glad that suburbia has treated you so well and that you are blessed with such a loving neighborhood. You clearly have incredible friends and an immense support system for your family! Congratulations my friend! Can't wait to see Torah in the kayak!

In the first picture she looks a lot like Emma!

I still can't believe the hospital and their paperwork obsession. Couldn't they have waited like five minutes, because seriously that's all they would have had to wait!

She is beautiful! So glad you have such a great network of friends, while living so far from your family. Great friends make living away from family a little easier. This I have learned, even though we are only two hours away, we still don't have the luxury of calling a family member to help tend the kids or do other simple things that were usually only a few minutes away. Good friends become your family. So glad you are all being so well taken care of! Hugs and Kisses to everyone and especially Torah and those cute cheeks.

Brooke, I have been waiting for this post. What a blessing! I'm so glad all went so smoothly for you. Good things come to those who wait, right? Blessings and hugs your way.

Anya said that Torah was her BFF. We had a talk about the fact that she didn't tell me you were having a girl.

I am glad that they are taking care of you so well up there. You have always been so great to me. You deserve the best.

Sounds like Torah wants to visit in the night. Tell her to call, I'm usually up.

Hugs!! I miss you. (Sure now I'm crying, stupid hormones.)

Congratulations!!! What a beautiful baby. You know, I was hoping for a boy if only for the name suggestion, but Torah is so lovely that I'll forgive her being a girl.

Seriously though, I've rarely seen such a pretty newborn. I'm glad you have such a wonderful neighborhood!
