Summer 2011 - Utah, round 2 (Week 1)

Since Jared had back-to-back camps at BYU in July (soccer camp & EFY), the kids & I drove down, dropped him off, then continued down to St. George to stay with my parents. He was able to join us for one final week. We had a lot of fun, but it was a long time to be away from Nathan, and it sure feels good to be home again.

I've got a million pictures, so I'm going to post them in segments. I'll start with WEEK 1.

Saturday, July 9
We left Bainbridge Island on the 7:55 a.m. boat and drove to Boise. Got in around 5:30 p.m. Our hotel had a great outdoor pool. YEAH!

Sunday, July 10
We had planned on leaving our hotel after breakfast, but we got sucked into watching the FIFA Women's World Cup Playoffs - USA vs. Brazil. Awesome!

We stopped for lunch in Jerome, ID and ate it "Fawcett style" (I made us sandwiches and we ate out of the back of our car). Spent the night in Spanish Fork at Kyla's house. Thanks Kyla!

Monday, July 11
I dropped Jared off at his soccer camp (sniff sniff) and we continued on down the road to St. George. First thing on the agenda:

SWIMMING!!

Tuesday, July 12
We overlapped with my brother's family for a day. It was fun to hang out with them for a bit.
Grandma & Grandpa loved having all of their grandkids with them (except Jared). We left that space next to Grandma's head so that she could Photoshop him into the shot. :)

Me & my siblings - Joe, Chad & Sheri.

Actually, these are my great siblings! My brothers & sister married well, and I love Katie, Sloan & George as if they were my flesh-n-blood! (I sure wish Nathan could've been there with us though.)

Wednesday, July 13
Our first full day of "do nothing" vacation. These are my favorite sort of days.

Thursday, July 14

We went to the fun Carousel in downtown St. George.

The kids also played in the great water feature running through the park.

Friday, July 15
We stressed a little on Friday when it began to cloud up. :-)

Luckily, the clouds continued on their merry way (up to Seattle, from what I've been told), and we walked down to the Splash Pad at the park near my parent's house.

We love splash pads!

Saturday, July 16

Oh yeah, baby! This girl had to get all dressed up for our dinner at Smashburger.

Then back home for an evening swim.

Jerome is where my aunt lives. I went to high school there for a semester. I have spent LOTS of time there!! Looks like you had a great time. Happy you are all home safe and sound.

Ps- The word verification for the post? "Hooter". Yup!

What a busy trip you had. It looks like loads of fun for all. I noticed that little Torah is getting the same tan that I remember Adana getting...maybe not as extreme.

Loved all the pictures! You can "Photoshop" Nathan in standing right next to you in the shot with all your siblings. Looks like a great couple of weeks. You rock!
