Summer 2011 - Utah, round 2 (Week 3, part 1)

Our final week in St. George was definitely our busiest, since Jared was finally with us. We had held off on a lot of our fun plans so that he could join us.

Sunday, July 24
Micah, Emma, Adana & Ella spent hours putting together a "show" for us, complete with choreography by the girls and a Power Point presentation by Micah.
We were each given personalized tickets to the show, which was held down in the theater. (Sorry for the lousy picture. I didn't realize that my camera lens was so spotty.)

The show kicked off with a wild dance show by Emma & her sidekicks.

Then they invited Jared forward, where they crowned him and draped him with a royal cloak in honor of his return to our family. Did I mention that we were all THRILLED to have him back!?

Monday, July 25

For Family Night, we went to the Fiesta Fun Center.

The 4 older kids drenched themselves in the bumper boats.

Then the boys race on the go-carts.

And the girls "raced" on the mini-go-carts. They were painfully slow, but they enjoyed them.

And I got this great, rare shot of all 5 of my cute offspring.

ZION PARK

Mom & I took the kids to Zion. It was a cloudy day, with just a light rain. We LOVED it! It felt so cool & refreshing - the perfect weather for a long hike up to the Emerald Pools.

Our sweaty group at the pools.

The kids, of course, couldn't just stick to the trail. They had to climb up and over and around every stinkin' boulder and cliff edge.

Micah scaled a wall of bouldars to get around the pool and climb up this enormous rock. Can you see him up there on top?

As soon as we arrived at the pool, Adana set about catching frogs. Here she is trying to kiss one to see if it will turn into a prince.

She also caught tadpoles. She is an amazing creature catcher - she even caught hers before Micah could catch any. That was quite a blow to his ego.

I carried Torah on my back the whole way. Between my sweat & her slobber, my back was drenched!

Jared was a great sport and carried Torah's hot pink backpack the whole way.

Jared & Gma. He's getting so tall!

Such a good big brother. Adana was wiped out after the hike, so her Abi piggybacked her the rest of the way.

We were STARVING after the hike, so we stopped in Springdale at a place we'd heard of - Oscars. Holy YUM! We all got huge burgers.

The boys both ordered the BigAss Double Burger. I think it was the first time I've even seen Jared unable to finish his burger.

Torah just wanted to suck on ice and lemons from my drink.

Oh Emerald Pools is a fav of Darin and I. Long ago I went there with a bunch of long hairs at sunset...they all dropped their britches and mooned the moon while swimming in the pool. Oh the memories. FYI: I just sat and took the pictures.
