Raising Adana

This evening, Adana asked if she could walk her friend, Kaia, home. She just lives at the end of our cul-de-sac. I said yes. "BUT," I vehemently told her, "you may NOT stay and play. You have to come straight home."

Fifteen minutes later, I sent Nathan to fetch his obviously wayward daughter. Here's their conversation on the walk home (she was found playing in front of Kaia's house):

Nathan: Adana, why were you still playing at Kaia's house? Your mom told you to come straight home.

Adana: I didn't hear her say that.

Nathan: Yes you did! I was standing right there when she told you that you could walk Kaia home but that you couldn't stay to play.

Adana (with her typical "innocent" logic): Well, I turned my head so I wouldn't hear the last part.

....what? come home at midnight? don't hop on a motorcycle with a stranger? drive my truck, where?
Yep....I see the future clearly for you, my dear! Your parents are enjoying this WAY too much!

Of course, she has you and rule breaking Nathan as parents!

I agree, your parents are totally enjoying your Adana experience. Teaching you a lesson for sure.

You are going to have to be on your best game raising that girl!

I love her!

You really need to get a LOVE button on your blog so I can click it over and over! I didn't know you as a teenager, but all I have to do is wait a few more years and I'll get to see EXACTLY what you must have been like!
