Once upon a time, two families lived in Turkey: the Russells & the Cranneys. These two families had a lot in common and became quite close, even going so far as to combine their names into one.
The Crussneys!
The Crussneys had a unique tradition, one which has led to much joy, laughter, and an inordinate amount of laundry.
MASHED POTATO FIGHTS!
At any given moment, and without warning, large buckets of mashed potatoes seem to appear out of nowhere and the mayhem commences. |
A direct hit! |
Plotting her next target. |
A casualty of war. |
Mashed Potato brotherhood. |
After the fight, a hose down is required before going in the house. That water is COLD! |
Dripping, gooey, potato-y friends. |
No one was excluded from the action. She is a true Crussney now! |
Yep, even the designated "photographer" got caught in the crossfire. |
The aftermath. They are going to be finding globs of mashed potato on their back porch for months! |
Thank you Dean, Camille, Rachel, Karl, Emily & Clara (and little Roxy) for yet another memorable visit! We love you guys!

Delightful!
No Way! I have wanted to do this forever with those food storage cans of potoatoes we never eat. Way fun!
My first thought was...who made all the mashed potatoes??
Glad you have the Cranneys! I would never make mashed potatoes and then throw them around. I am just too uptight about certain things. I am also not as much fun as they are... nice vacation.
When and where was this? I need to find myself some mashed potatoe friends!!!
