Last weekend, we were treated to a RARE event - a family vacation (minus Jared, sadly, who was on an RV trip with a bunch of friends). Of course, the only reason we were able to enjoy such a luxury was because Nathan had a dental conference he had to attend. But no matter - we were excited to get out of town and enjoy a little R & R!
Destination: Coeur d'Alene, ID
We arrived LATE Thursday night. Friday morning, Emma's friend picked her up at our hotel and took her to their cabin at Priest Lake. So that left me with just 3 kiddos. Ahhhhh, so easy! :)
Our hotel was attached to a little amusement park/indoor water park called Triple Play. So while Nathan went to his meetings on Friday, the kids played. |
Torah was P.O.'d that she wasn't allowed to ride the go-carts! |
She tried SO HARD to squeeze through or under the fence. It sucks being the youngest. |
But she had a great time at their little indoor water park. |
We met Nathan in town for lunch at Hudson's. It is a tiny burger joint - ALL they sell is burgers (no fries). And ALL the burgers have on them are onions & pickles. But they were pretty yummy! |
After lunch, Nathan came back to the hotel with us & played with the girls in the water park. This picture cracks me up! I'm sure glad the kids inherited my skin. :) |
Micah & Adana played in the water bumper boats. |
And we played mini-golf. |
Torah preferred to play in the water feature that ran through the mini-golf course. |
We met up with some friends for dinner at
Capone's. I can't believe that I don't have a picture! We have been dying to eat there ever since we saw it featured on Diners, Drive-ins & Dives. We tried practically everything on the menu - all super tasty!
Then we joined up with some other friends at the Coeur d'Alene Resort for dessert. Torah LOVED their enormous koi tank! |
We ordered their famous GOOEYS. Ice cream, chocolate sauce, whipped cream, more ice cream, more sauce, chocolate mousse, more toppings . . . and a cherry on top. I swear I just gained 10lbs from typing that. |
The next day (Saturday) we went to
Silverwood with our friends, the Brooks. No pictures. Just a lawn chair, hot sun, cool water, and a refillable large diet coke. Happy Happy Day. :)

Gotta love Triple Play and Silverwood! We have been the last 4 years and I FINALLY convinced my crew to skip it this year!
Looks like a fabulous trip!
What about the sparkly toe nails? I noticed you conveniently left that part out even though it was a once in a lifetime event. (nothing's a secret with children :)
So glad you had such a good time! You deserve a great vacation every now and then.
