Better than the real thing

I found this funny spoof of the Twilight movie on my sis-in-law's blog. Since I liked the 1st book, yawned through the 2nd, and absolutely hated the last two, I thought this video was great. I'm guessing the spoof will end up being better than the actual movie, with it's intense music, unnaturally gorgeous characters, and contrived lines.

Nate thought this was hilarious! He read all four books, I haven't and I'm not sure I'm going to. He agreed that the first one was the best. Some of his friends are trying to get him to go see the movie, but he says he's not interested. We'll see.

I also want to know how you put youtube videos or others on your blog. I can't get anything more than about 30 seconds to upload to mine, but I've only tried ones from my own camera.

Here's my quick How To Post a Video primer:

#1 - Go to YouTube (or whatever site is hosting the video) and select the video that you want on your site.

#2 - On the right side of the page, there will be 2 long boxes. One says "URL." The other says "Embed."

#3 - Left click & drag your cursor slowly over the information in the "Embed" box. Right click Copy. You want to get all the text that is in that box.

#4 - Pull up your New Post and paste it in. I find that I have the best luck if I paste it in the HTML screen (rather than the WYSIWYG screen).

#5 - If it doesn't work at first, you may need to re-copy & paste. Occassionally, I haven't quite copied the whole thing & I have to go back & re-do it.

Hope that helps.

Come on you don't want to be a "Twi-hard" like millions of 12-18 year olds, and the 99% of moms who try to take back their youth by living vicariously through a fictional teenage girl who really is not all that interesting--and makes really stupid choices like walk down dark alleys in Washington, thinks she can fight off a vampire with pepper spray, and whatever other stupid things a teenage girl would do-- but apparently a vampire is strangely turned on by the smell of her blood (and no one else's). That's gotta peak your interest somewhat to see why a ruggedly handsome vampire (who was in Harry Potter) would be into her.

Well, when you put it that way . . . definitely not! :-)

I know each generation of teenie-boppers has to have their infatuation (I still can't get enough Rutger Hauer after I fell in love with him in Ladyhawke!), but I guess I'm part of the 1% of moms who is glad to be out of the teenage angst phase and has NO desire to relive it.

I loved the first three Twilight books...the fourth was a little over-the-top, lame, goodie-goodie with tying up all the loose ends. It made everything seem too perfect...they should have fought the Volturri, that was a big let down. I just got annoyed...

Anyhow, I really enjoyed the movie for what it was worth...I thought the sound effects/sound editing sucked, they should have paid $$ for a better sound editor and composer...that said...Eric and I enjoyed our date night with the 10 or so people from our ward who went!
