House Guests + Head Cold = No Blog Posts

Sorry folks. I'm still alive. If anyone is even bothering to check in on this goofy little blog anymore, rest assured that I'm still here. I'm just clawing my way back to some semblance of normalcy after a week of visitors and then a nasty cold.

To give you an idea of how deranged I've been the past week . . . on Friday morning (two days into my not-swine-flu-but-pretty-darn-close illness), I staggered downstairs to play hostess for some great friends who were visiting. I dutifully set out things for breakfast - boxes of cereal, bowls & spoons on the counter; bread, butter and a container of my homemade raspberry jam by the toaster.

A little while later, I noticed that our friend had made himself some toast, but was eating it plain - just some butter on it. I was a bit confused because, C'mon!, who turns down homemade raspberry jam!? But I was too wiped out to really think about it further.

Later that day, when I was finally getting around to cleaning up the kitchen, I went to put away the container of my lip-smackin' raspberry jam . . . only to discover that I'd actually set out a container of leftover marinara sauce.

Oops.

I am thankfully finally starting to feel better and should soon be back to blogging the adventitious idiosyncrasies of our lives.

A little motzerella cheese on top and my kids would be pleased all day!
