Does this surprise anyone?

I have four kids. My first three each presented their own challenges. But they had NOTHING on child #4. I have found myself saying over and over and over again, "The older three would NEVER have done this!"

Here's Adana's latest expression of her unique personality:
Does this look like a remorseful face to you? Actually, she was just commanded to "wipe that smile off your face and stop dancing around!" This was the best she could do.

Here's the crime scene (a small portion of it, at least. The damage was spread all over the upstairs playroom). Sadly, her blond locks were not the only casualty. Raggedy Ann also received a bit of a trim.

This happened on Wednesday. Today, I took her in to have it fixed. It turned out adorable!

Nathan's favorite part of this whole thing was when we discovered her. We had gone upstairs to check on her and found her hiding in the corner with her hands behind her back. The evidence of her hair massacre were all about her, and she was saying, "Go away! I'm fine. I don't want you to see me!" Naturally, I assumed she was referring to the locks of hair which were no longer affixed to her hair, and that she was hiding the scissors behind her back. But when I finally managed to pry her arms out and see what she was holding, I discovered a half-eatten box of Nerds. The little stinker wasn't even phased by the fact that she'd just done a hack job on her head; she just didn't want us to discover the candy that she'd snuck.

Remorse? Adana?? I don't think so.

She looks cute, but definitely not sorry. When my sisters girl cut her hair and she had it repaired into something darling, no one was allowed to tell her how cute she was. Tough parenting:)
My question is if she did this on Wednesday and you only got it fixed today, what did you do with the fantastic style yesterday?
Now she looks like her sister.

It doesn't surprise me one bit! I'm only surprised she hadn't done it sooner! Her hair is adorable, though. Did you take her to Kim?

No...I am not surprised, but she looks so grown up now with short hair! I had to take a double take because she looks so much like Emma now. Oh.. Adana! She is just too much!

Yep. I've got one, too, and he's also my youngest. I think mabye that kid grows up knowing you're perpetually distracted, so they can get away with anything, and also kind of need to do so in order to get your attention.

She will never, ever outgrow this. Brace yourselves...

Actually, my child of wonder is number 3. She and your 4th would be quite the pair. What a cute cut, though. Too funny!
