Find us a big enough puddle and we'll kayak!

A rain-swollen pond + a small backyard + obsessively soccer playing boys = a murky soccer ball graveyard. Our neighborhood pond has been gradually collecting random soccer balls (and frisbees and basketballs and hockey pucks . . .) over the past few months.

Today was beautiful & sunny, the perfect day to finally get all of those balls out of there. And really, there was only one way to get the job done . . . by kayak.

Jared started off paddling around through the cat tails, trying to fish out those nasty balls.
The water was pretty deep, but it was clogged with fallen logs and a web of pond reeds and muck. Gross. It made it pretty tough to maneuver around.

Soon, Micah decided that it wasn't fair for Jared to have all the fun. So he launched kayak #2 in.

They managed to clear out most of the junk then proceeded to race around the pond, ramming each other every chance they got.

Why, you might ask, was Jared wearing ski goggles?

Because they were also under fire from Coltrane who was pelting them with air soft guns.

'Cuz seriously, who needs video games on a day like this?!

that looks like some serious fun! looks like something reggie would enjoy doing, except in the end someone would have fallen into the disgusting water!

I would have totally loved something like that, too! What great memories!

OK, I can see the picture better now. From my phone I couldn't really tell who it was. At least someone is getting some use out of your kayak!
