For the past few days, the local media has been SO excited about a huge storm that was approaching and due to strike the Puget Sound sometime on Wednesday afternoon. A preliminary "snow event" arrived last night, but we were told that it was nothing compared to what was looming.
When I was up with Torah around 5:30 this morning, all of the local news people were out on the streets in their coordinating bright yellow parkas. They were talking in delighted tones about the wet snow that was "blanketing" the bushes in Everett, the sidewalks in Issaquah, the rooftops in Olympia, and the beaches on the coast. For those of you who are familiar with our regional geography, you will note that there was snow north, east, south & west of us. But here on Bainbridge Island, we had nary a flake. Still, the media insisted that at some point today, SNOWMAGEDDON 2011 was due to hit.
And so we waited. All day, watching and waiting. Anticipating a plunge in temperatures. (No sassy comments about my dusty dashboard, please.)

Yeah, and we had a snow day with a quarter inch on the ground. Where is Adana's jacket? It was only 43 degrees, bundle her up and of course, shelter in place (a fav).
Wow, you guys got up to a balmy 43? It didn't get above 35 at our house. And no sun in sight yesterday. Snow swirled around us all day, but nothing stuck. That's my kind of snowstorm!
