Big Fat Liars!

This has been a LOUSY spring. No, I can't even call it spring, since I'm still wearing my fleece sweatshirts and thick, wool socks. This has been a LONG winter.

But, at the beginning of the week, the stupid, scared-for-their-lives obviously over-worked and confused weather people in Seattle promised that, by the end of the week, we would have "record breaking highs."

"The wheels are in motion to build a rather significant, and possibly historical heat wave over the Pacific Northwest starting today."

It was supposed to rain until Wednesday morning, then the sun would burst forth in all its rarely-seen glory. And we would have SUNNY SKIES and temperatures in the mid-80's. (Cue angels singing and happy little butterflies fluttering about.)

It's now Thursday. And still cold and rainy. And I'm about to go postal on Jim Castillo & Chris Warren. I shaved my legs last night, in anticipation of our "historical heat wave" and I'm going to be Very Put Out if I'm stuck wearing pants all day.

It says something rather sad that you feel your need an extreme special occasion to shave your legs these days. :)

Heck yeah I need a special occassion to shave. My policy, when living in the states, has long been that I will shave Memorial Day through Labor Day. When I live out of the country - well, let's just say "When in Rome . . . " :-)

Tucson is hot....come and stay!

Yes, but in Tucson you would be seeing my Wicked Witch of the West routine. "I'm melting, I'm meeellltttiiinnnggg . . . "

I just need a happy medium - fewer clouds, a bit warmer, but not so hot that my sneakers melt to the sidewalk when I walk. I just want Perfect Weather. Is that so wrong? :-)

What is that big yellow thing in the sky? It finally appeared around 2:00 this afternoon! Yay! Good thinking to shave...I considered it, but didn't get around to it...guess I'll have to tomorrow since it's supposed to be in the high 80s for the next few days. Gasp!

I HATE to shave my legs. I wore my capri's today and looked down to see some serious hairy legs. I hopped in the tub and shaved only to just above the hem line of my capris'. No sense in going hog wild and shaving where no one will see. There is a bonus being married to Trent. He can't feel my stubby legs. I can go months and not have to worry about that one. And the parking is nice sometimes too. :)

You might be from the Northwest if you know that June is really the cruelest month....

Seriously, I recall the natives being downright psychotic when it was 49 and rainy on the first day of summer.

I guess, since I still miss the place like crazy, I should be rejoicing about our persistently cool May. The furnace is still running each morning -- and I keep the thermostat set to 64! (oil heat -- it's like burning cash to stay warm) In other words, it's not just you; I do hear we will have temperatures in the mid-70s for Memorial Day weekend, though.

Not shaving was one of my favorite things about Europe. Granted, it did take a while to grow accustomed to the feel of the breeze blowing through the hair on my legs.... :-D

Oh, Brooke, if you want Perfect Weather, then I think you need to move to San Diego. That's Perfect Weather!
