Phew, now I can sleep better at night.

Thank heaven for that great band of green scientists who have now made BOMBS safer on the environment!

A few "enlightening" tidbits about our current bombs (take out pencil & paper; I bet you didn't know this):

  1. Explosives commonly used . . .often generate toxic gases upon detonation that pollute the environment.
  2. The explosives themselves are toxic .
  3. They are also extremely dangerous to handle.

Um, duh. That's why they are called bombs. Because they are dangerous and they destroy things.

But now they are looking into making "safer, more environmentally friendly explosives."

C'mon! This is NOT the kind of crap that I want to read the day after Memorial Day. Who cares about the stinking environment when our soldiers and innocent civilians are being killed by these things.

This quote really p***ed me off:

Mixing these compounds with oxidizers not only avoids making hydrogen cyanide, but also improved performance.

"Improved performance" = kills people better.

But hey, at least the grass will stay green.

Are you kidding? "safer explosives"? That's insane.

Aren't bombs suppose to kill people? So, wouldn't the most toxic bomb be the most effective? I am confused about the role of bombs now.

They could just drop thousands of McDonald's coupons (printed on recycled paper!) -- that might have the same effect.... :-P
