Peanut Butter & Brown Sugar sandwich

My poor, dear blog readers. I feel so sorry for you all, that you have lived this many years without knowing the glory, the inexpressible joy, of a Peanut Butter and Brown Sugar sandwich. Well, your search for the perfect food is over.

No longer will after-school snacks be dull. Never again will you need to wonder what to have when you are craving a midnight snack. Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner. This unassuming little sandwich will satisfy, no matter what the occassion.

Step 1: Take out a slice of bread. One of the great things about the Peanut Butter and Brown Sugar sandwich is that it tastes equally fabulous on whole wheat or white bread (unlike the lesser pb&j sandwich, which is pretty blechy on wheat bread.) Spread your bread slice with a thin layer of peanut butter.

Step 2: Sprinkle brown sugar on top of the peanut butter. Use your fingers to sort of pat it into the pb and push it to the edges.

Step 3: Fold the bread in half. This way, you can eat it kind of like a taco, with the fold side down, and none of the yummy brown sugar falls out.

Step 4: I recommend serving it with a tall glass of chocolate milk (I'm partial to Ovaltine.)

Enjoy! And let me know if you like it.

Wow! Someone has a sweet tooth! I wonder if Mora could make you a peanut butter brown sugar flavor...
I'll give the sandwich a try and let you know what I think.

Oh. My. Goodness. I swear you just copied that right out of my brain! I noticed your last blog that you mentioned a pb&bs sandwich, and I was all warm and fuzzy inside thinking about the absolutely yumminess that is a pb&bs. I had made them for me and my two girls for lunch just yesterday... And I have to say- I serve it with a nice tall (and healthy) glass of Ovaltine (NOT the Malted one- the Original)!

Awesome.

Wow. Thank heavens you included pictures with your step by step directions. I would have been totally overwhelmed and lost without them. :D

That is LUNCH today! I can't wait to try it! I think that I could eat a cockroach if it was covered in PB and chocolate! The brown sugar sounds fantastic, too! Wish I would have learned this from you back in our Mississippi days! Years I could have been enjoying...

Brown sugar makes everything better...according to my kids! Actually, around here, PB and fudge sandwiches are the bees knees.

On whole wheat bread, of course :)

OK, I tried it and I admit, it's scrumdiddlyumptious! Next time I'm putting more peanut butter, though.

I made these too as a wee lad ... and sprinkled in either cinnamon or nutmeg for good measure.

Ooh! I've been eating these since I was little and still make one now and then. People always think I'm odd when I tell them this is my favorite sandwich!

I've been eating these sandwiches since grade school when I would trade lunches with a friend who had these from time to time. I get the same reactions "Yuck! you eat what?" Now I'm in my 30's and still enjoy them from time to time. Have any of you made your own chocolate milk with cocoa and sugar? That with the sandwich is my ultimate must have late night snack.
