We spent New Year's Eve at our lake house. (That sounds way more cool than it actually is. It's an investment property that we bought and are fixing up to turn into a rental. But until it's ready to rent out, we're enjoying it.)

Have I mentioned that my new camera has a bunch of cool settings? This was the "fireworks" setting. I think they turned out pretty cool.

Aren't we a bunch of party animals!? This was about 11pm on New Year's Eve. Nathan & I rarely make it until midnight.

We spent January 2nd at
Hurricane Ridge, a beautiful part of the Olympic National Park. They have a small ski/snowboard area with a lodge and small sledding hill. I was just in awe at the amazing scenery. My camera (even with all it's fabulous settings) just doesn't do the view justice.

When we first arrived, Adana was less than thrilled about all the cold and snow.

But then she discovered how YUMMY snow tastes. And I've already
shown you how she loved the little sledding hill by the lodge.

My little snow bunny. She's so pretty.

Micah spent the whole time trying to "snowboard" down the slope on our sled. He actually got pretty good at it. Santa brought both boys snowboard lessons for Christmas, so he'll soon be doing this for real.

Jared going off the jump. I love his expression.

Yeah, "our lake house" sounds way cooler than "our investment property."
we need to take the kid sledding. did you like hurricane ridge? how long is the drive to the sledding area? do tell!
Oh, we've been meaning to head out to Hurricane Ridge for the past two winters! We haven't gone yet this year because it looked like there wasn't a whole lot of snow. But your pictures tell a different story--it looks like so much fun! Good for you guys!
Love the Lake House! Your New Years Eve looked cooler than mine with the in-laws :) and pit. We are the true party animals.
