I've been getting back into running lately, and I love it. But sometimes it's frustrating to try to find the time. I don't allow it to be my #1 priority (I'll admit it - #1 priority is sleep!) Or even #2 or #3. But some days it doesn't even make it into the top 50. Sigh.
Today was one of those days. I was all dressed and ready to go run this morning. All the kids were at school. Dinner was in the crock pot. The house was relatively clean (ok, my bed was made and the dishes were done). I had just finished tying my shoes and was ready to head out.
Then the phone rang. And I answered it.
It was a friend, needing a babysitter right away.
Who could say no to this face?

And so my run will have to wait for another day. Actually, for a few more days, because I know I won't be able to go tomorrow either. Double sigh.

Oh my gosh, that is a DARLING baby!! And I'm not always into other people's kids. But I even called my daughter over to see this one. You're right: The run can wait. That feathery hair needs your cheek against it, all day long.
He's adorable!
I have to admit, I probably wouldn't have answered the phone. You're a better woman than I am! I think your priorities are in the right place. Ultimately you (probably) won't be judged on how many runs you got in, but helping out a friend is sure to score you some points!
I'm teeter-tottering between the good friend in me (who couldn't have said no to my friend) and the runner in me who would NEVER answer the phone when my shoes are on and no one is home! :)
