Does it make you the ultimate hypocrite if you count how many Ding-Dongs are left in the box when you're done so that you will know if any of your sneaky kids (or husband) are snitching them when you're not looking?

amen, sista!!
I am totally a closet treat eater! I have treats hidden just so that I can eat them, and always without the kids around. I like to keep my "stash" in the food storage closet, because it is off limits to everyone else! I don't see any issues with that. Must be why I like you so much:)
You mean I am not alone?
I think your mistake has been in letting the rest of the family know that there are Hostess products in the house to begin with. Sometimes you've got to be sneaky and selfish for your own good.
Doesn't every mom have a hidden stash of goodies. My Gabe asked, "Why do Mom's have their own stash of treats?" And I said, "because I can enjoy a bag of candy or a small pint of ice cream for a long time and you kids and Daddy would eat it in one sitting!"
I can't speak to Ding-Dongs (like creamed corn, I did not know they were still manufactured -- ;-D), but, yes, I do sneak cookies, popsicles, ice cream -- whatever I can get away with. It's what passes for fun for me.
It does make me feel like a bit of a bad mom; I compensate by not blowing my stack when we find a pile of popsicle sticks in the playroom or a big pile of Halloween candy wrappers under one of the boys' beds.
Right on girl! Show me da ding dongs, and give the kids organic applesauce. :)
