I suppose I should start with a MERRY CHRISTMAS! message, so as to not completely avoid the subject. We had a lovely (fairly chaotic, but everyone survived) Christmas. I have to admit, though, that I am always a bit relieved when Dec. 26th comes around.
Now, back to regular life.
This morning, as I was cleaning the kitchen, Micah decided to check his email. We've taken all the normal internet precautions - the computer is in the busiest part of our house, between the kitchen and family room; kids are not allowed on the internet unless a parent is in the room; and they are only allowed to go to previously checked websites.
So I'm scrubbing away at my pots & pans while Micah is on-line.
Micah (aka Animal Man) has recently taken to visiting a couple sites which post "funny animal pictures." I've looked at them all and they seem fairly innocuous. He inevitably finds "the most hilarious/adorable/remarkable" animal picture he's ever seen, and it usually ends up being emailed to me and a few other lucky recipients.
So, I wasn't surprised when he says, "Hey mom! Check this out."
Me (up to my elbows in bubbles): Just a minute, Micah.
Him: Mom, have you ever seen a "bitch 'n fries? I don't think Dad would like it.
Me (BOLTING across the kitchen, bubbles flying): What the . . . !?!
It's amazing the thoughts that can go through your mind in mere seconds. What has he seen? He must have clicked on a bad link. What sort of weird website shows naked women with french fries? I really don't want to have this talk right now. This is his Dad's job. If I freak out about it, will that only make him more curious?
With great trepidation, I looked at the screen. Before me was a picture of a tiny little puppy - fluffy ball of curly white fur. The title read Bichon Frise (proper pronunciation: [bee-shon fri-zey])
Phew!
But he was right - his Dad definitely wouldn't like it.

Those are cute dogs! We are torn...I told Eric I wanted another Katie. That will be hard to do. We miss our dog and I am wanting a new one. A Bichon has always been second on our list, poddles being first. Tell Micah, Aunt Kiahna loves little white dogs!
Too funny really!
Ha Ha, Brooke! That is too funny. I, too, am glad Christmas is over. On with life, I say. I took all my decorations down today and dusted everything and it was lovely--lovely to have Christmas, lovely to be done with it.
Take care--
Amie
ROTFL That's hysterical! I would have reacted the same way - bubbles flying! LOL
