47 degrees, partly sunny, chance of showers

Nathan & I spent a fabulous weekend in Tucson, AZ. Mid-80's, sunny skies, gentle breeze. That was followed by a marvelous week in sunny S. Utah. A bit cooler than AZ, but still T-shirt weather. We swam, hiked, 4-wheeled and played at the park until after dark.

Life isn't just about weather. I know that. But when I walked off the plane at SeaTac on Sunday afternoon, I knew exactly what I would find. 47 degrees, partly sunny, chance of showers. Because it's the same blasted weather that we have had for the past 2 months. And I would be lying if I said I didn't groan a little.

It's good to be home. I love Washington. I love the green trees. I love the lawns which consist primarily of GRASS rather than piles of rock and prickly shrubbery. I love the water and boats and the mountains all around us.

And I'm writing this post for one purpose (no, mom - it's not to say that I've decided to move to Utah.) 47 degrees, partly sunny, chance of showers may seem like a complaint right now. But when I re-read this post in July, when I'm back in sunny S. Utah - MELTING in the blistering heat - 47 degrees, partly sunny, chance of showers will sound heavenly.

But for now - ugh.

I think the weather report should be. Cold, Butt cold, and chance of freezing butt cold. But that is just my take on this weather.

You might be from the Northwest if you know that June is the cruelest month....

It was 72 and sunny here today, and the daffodils are almost ready to open; in the low-lying parts of the state, they are already open, but not here. :-( I still would mvoe back to Seattle in a heartbeat.
