Back together again

Nathan & Emma got in yesterday evening. We picked them up at the airport at 7pm. As soon as I saw Emma walking toward me, I knew something was wrong. Her eyes were sunken, her cheeks were flushed . . . she looked beat. Nathan said she'd just woken up when they landed, so I hoped that was the cause. But as we hit I-5, she started complaining of a stomach ache. We pulled off and got her out just in time to, well, I'll spare you the details. Let's just say the multi-berry crepe she had for breakfast sounded much better than it looked.

We were all hungry (except Emma, obviously), and since we rarely get over to the east side of the Sound, we thought we'd eat at one of our all-time favorite hamburger/fish & chips joints - DALY'S. It's at the north end of Lake Union - a classic greasy dive that we have been craving for months.

Sigh. Another great American establishment bites the dust. So long Hot Fudge Marshmallow shakes. Farewell fried clams dripping in oil. You will be missed.

(Emma, by the way, spent the rest of the night yaking into a bowl. She's doing better today - just completely wiped out from her whirlwind weekend of late nights and fast food. I think she has a 6-year old version of a hangover.)

That's what I call the Welcome back Yack. Poor girl. Hope the "love" doesn't get shared throughout the family.

Jacob was throwing up today too! I wonder if they caught something in that horribly cold weather! Hope she feels better soon.

Oh, how I miss the drizzle and the Seattle sky!! I keep telling myself that *this* move, in particular, was good for the kids, but I miss the zoo, the fresh air, the water, the mountains....

At least I have Pearl Jam; you know that I GOT TICKETS, right?!?!?

I'm sorry Emma was feeling cruddy; I hope the rest of you are staying healthy!
